A visit to NineDishes on Kingsway (at Windsor) and its authentic Chinese fare reminded us of our recent trip to Beijing and its delicious (and often intimidating) street food.
Everything I used was found around the house – an old chinese food container, duct tape, cardboard, foil, and packing tape. When I finished, the light was still kind of harsh, so I added a paper towel to diffuse it.
Snoopy’s Dish

The Parks are what used to be known as Camp Snoopy–a theme park entirely inside the Mall of America. I believe Nickelodeon has negotiated a deal with the MOA to re-theme this area. It will feature characters such as Sponge-Bob. You can even see Snoopy’s dish which was a popular meeting spot.
Opening in 1992, the Mall of America is the largest shopping mall in the United States (and perhaps the world, when all things are considered). It has a gross area of 4.2 million square feet which contains 500+ shops, restaurants, clubs, an underground aquarium, cinema, flight simulators, LEGO Imagination Center, and theme park. It even boasts 20,000 parking spaces and a dedicated light rail station. In a recent survey, Mall of America was the 2nd most visited tourist destination in the United States, bringing in around 40 million visitors per year.

My lunch today… the most epic deep dish pizza ever! Mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, spinach, anchovies, and pepperoni! Personally, I’m still a fan of NY thin crust.

I had been meaning to post pics of my DIY beauty dish. I did the terra cotta bowl from home depot version. I used an old 50 cd-r spindle and then stuck a convex car mirror inside it. I used the gutter spout to attach the flash inside the beauty dish. A little bit of paint and it was finished. The hardest part was cutting the hole in the bottom of the terra cotta bowl. That took a while but I eventually got the right size.
